Alana Scott has served in the Greater Baton Rouge and Greater Houston area as an educator, composer, and performing musician for over 20 years- over 10 years professionally. Scott currently serves as a secondary choir director in the greater Houston area, and serves as Assistant Artistic Director of Houston Show Choir, and as a staff singer and section leader at Zion Lutheran Church- Heights. Scott is also an active performer in Voices of Houston, I'Colori Del'Opera, and has lead in productions with art Factory- Houston. Scott has completed several commissions for organizations across the US over the past 5 years. Most recent works include Don't Worry Willy - The Musical, a collaboration with Playwright and lead songwriter Elizabeth Unease. This production had its world premiere with The Ensemble Theatre- Houston. Scott has also completed commissions for Pasadena Philharmonic Orchestra, Houston Show Choir, and Homegrown New Music Ensemble. Scott was the winner of the Speedwriting Competition with Charlotte New Music Festival in 2018 with "Home Run!", a piece for violin and cello string duo.
